Pinewood Manor
On property next to The Pines at Ocean Park, is Pinewood Manor which opened in October of 1981. Pinewood Manor offers an additional 50 apartments thru the HUD 202/8 program which aims to serve the extremely low and very low income elderly and disabled thorough Section 8 subsidized rents. Extremely low income is defined as income which is 30% of median income and very low income is defined as income which is 50% or less of the median income of the area.
All 50 apartments are one bedroom with a full kitchen, bedroom, living room and bedroom. All apartments have a patio or deck off the living room. Individual uncovered parking is available for one car per apartment. There is extensive community space on each floor, from a darts area on the 3rd floor, laundry, library and computer space on the 2nd floor, to a hair dressing salon on the first floor. Pinewood residents also have access to The Pines Community Building which is located on the adjacent property and houses the Business Office.
In March of 2016 14 apartments at Pinewood Manor, which had also been refurbished in 2002 via the Assisted Living Conversion Grant were also designated Type 1 Assisted Living apartment from the State of Maine.
From 2018 - 2020 all 50 apartments were totally refurbished with new kitchen cabinents and appliances, new vinyl hardwood flooring, updated bathrooms with walk-in showers, new french doors to the decks/patios and individual ACs in each unit.
